Rancho Cucamonga, CA – Today, lifelong educator and Etiwanda School Boardmember Robert Garcia announced earning the endorsement of the California Federation of Teachers (CFT). One of the largest education unions in California, CFT has a dedicated history of advocacy on behalf of its more than 120,000 members who work at every level of public and private education from Head Start to the University of California. CFT President Jeffery Freitas stated, “A lifelong educator and the first in his family to graduate from college, Robert Garcia truly understands the power of education, and that’s why CFT is proud to endorse him for State Assembly. From teaching in the classroom to working in school administration, Robert has over 20 years of experience in education and he knows the challenges facing students, teachers, classified workers, and school districts. We are excited to work with Robert in the State Assembly to champion public education in the Inland Empire and all of California.” Garcia has also received the endorsement of the California School Employees Association, Assembly Majority Leader Emeritus Eloise Gómez Reyes, and dozens of local leaders across the 50th Assembly District. “I’m very humbled to be endorsed by the California Federation of Teachers,” Garcia stated. “I know firsthand the power of a public education and the opportunities it brings. That’s why I’ve spent my career in education, working as a math and science teacher in the classroom and as a current school administrator. I’m eager to get to work in the State Assembly to fight for a quality public education and look forward to partnering with CFT to deliver results for educators, students, and workers in our local school districts.” |
